Every day, we experience a multitude of thoughts that are constantly keeping our minds active. Too active at times that it may prevent us from slowing down or sleeping easily.

These thoughts have intentions behind them.
Do we understand the intentions of our conscious thoughts?
Can we know if the intentions of our thoughts are protecting us?
Or are they limiting us in some way?

Our first insight for today’s RMEI topic of limiting thoughts starts with one of our brain’s functions.

Limiting thoughts arise from our brain’s intentions of protecting us from anything that feels like a threat that may cause pain, harm, or danger.

While many of our thoughts genuinely protect us from threats to our safety and help our survival, some can be more limiting than protective.

It's a continuous practice to differentiate between thoughts that protect us and those that limit us. Failing to understand the difference can lead to a life dominated by fear, which can prevent us from taking positive actions that contribute to our growth.

Limiting thoughts often have helpful intentions of aiming to protect us from perceived threats. However, our perception of what is a threat may sometimes be misleading.

Now, let's explore how our brain scans threats, which can help us have more awareness of its functions.
